Our first evening at home

When we got him home we were just so in awe, we just held him and stared at him. To actually have him home, in the house that we had been preparing for his arrival for so many months, was surreal. We were on our own now, without the help of nurses, and it was scary and thrilling all at the same time.
We showed him his sweet little bed where he would be sleeping right beside mommy, where I could keep a close eye on him, he LOVED the vibrations that we could turn on!:
Then we had our first visitor!!! My best friend from college, Ashley came by with her fiance Jeff. They are getting married in October, so we will get to take Payton to Fredericksburg to share that special day with them!!

Payton's Aunt Rachel (who he will call Ray Ray) and Uncle Justin, and Aunt Ashley and Uncle Tyler came by and brought us dinner for our first night at home. It was nice to not have to worry about it, and to sit and visit with everyone outside of the hospital room!!
Here is Uncle Justin and Payton:

And Uncle Tyler:

And sweet cousin Karsen, who thought Payton was like a little doll!!!:

We also tried Payton out in his swing. He liked it for short periods of time, he had trouble holding his head up so I think it frustrated him!
The first night really wasn't that bad! Chad was a major help when it came time for feedings. I slowly and carefully got up and sat in the recliner and Chad brought Payton to me. It was nice to work as a team, and Payton was sleeping for 3-4 hours at a time, so it was just about what we had expected! Other than that the first week was a blur, trying to do everything for Payton and get me recovered so that I was able to take everything on by myself when Chad returned to work the following week. Luckily for us Payton has been an amazing baby!!!
