Fishing in the Dark

Well, last weekend we headed out with some very good friends to try our hand at fishing on Lake Texoma. We left Saturday morning at about 10am and drove the almost 6 hours to the bed and breakfast we stayed at. We stayed at Pappy's Place in Pottsboro, TX, right before the TX/OK border. It was a really cute place owned by an older couple who was REALLY nice, they invited us to go "boot-scootin" on Saturday night. Here are some pics of the B & B:

And the Bedroom Chad and I slept in (and Jason slept on the floor because he had recently seen paranormal and was scared!:Anyway, we got up at 5 the next morning and went to meet our guide and head out on the lake, we all looked really funny because we wore so many layer, it was COLD out on the water!!!

We fished for 5 or 6 hours and had a BLAST even if it was cold. Our guide knew right where to take us, and there were points where we were reeling them in faster than the guide could get them off our hooks. Our guide was great, he baited our hooks, we cast out and caught the fish, then he would remove the fish, and re-bait us. THAT is the way to fish!!! Last weekend our guide took a group out and a man caught a 23 POUND striper! We didn't believe him until he showed us the picture!! We didn't catch anything huge, but we really had a good time, and we will definately do it again!! Here's some shots of our 72 fish:

It was really a great weekend, and I actually did pretty good for being three months pregnant! Of course, I slept all the way home....but I didn't get sick or anything!!! It was nice to get away with good friends and enjoy some quality time with them. I can't wait to do it again, even thought I know that once our little one arrives, there won't be near as much time for trips like this!
