A Fun Weekend at the Lake House!!!

Well, first of all my pictures are stolen from Rachel's blog, since she is the photographer of the family and the only one who took pictures at the lake! So if you are feeling a little de-ja-vu, that is why! And thank you Rachel for always being there with the camera!!!

We got to the lake house late Friday evening and I was ready to fish, we all walked down to Pop's dock to see this instead:

There was a puddle and deer standing where the lake should have been! It was really neat to see so many deer running around though! Cutter and Rylee thought they were pretty cool too!!

So we headed to the shared boat ramp after we unloaded everything and decided to do some night fishing, and I caught one that was big enough to keep!!! This was a big deal to me because there is always a competition between the girls and the boys to see who catches the most fish!

I was so excited and Chad, Pops, and Jami said they would prep and cook it! I've never caught a big fish, let alone one big enough to eat!!! I think I may have screamed loud enough to wake up the poor people who were unlucky enough to live next to the boat ramp! Here's a cute picture of Me, Kori, Rachel, and Becca getting ready to fish:
The next morning we got up, mowed and cleaned up around the lake house, then headed to the lake to put Jami and Pop's boats on the water, above is a picture of me and Cutter dancing while they were putting the boats in the water. What a CUTIE!

Pops took his boat tubing while we fished off of Jami's boat. Here is a cute picture of Rachel and Cutter trying to hang on, Pops was a crazy driver!!! :)

And here is my attempting to tube, I'm not even that far from the boat yet and I have this crazy determined look on my face! I'm not a fan of lake water because you can't see what is swimming with you, so my one request of Pops was that when I fell off he better come back and get me quick! lol!

Then we anchored the boats near eachother so some could swim and some could continue to fish, Rylee and I stumbled upon a place where the little tiny fish were biting like crazy, it was fun to see her get excited while she was catching fish after fish! In this picture I had somehow managed to catch 2 little fish at the same time!!! That's right boys - 2, add those to our tally!

Then I had the bright idea to climb out of the boat and stand on this large flat rock that was coming out of the water, my plan was to look down and see where the big fish was and catch him. Well, after about 5 minutes of standing there, I saw a large water moccasin headed towards Kori who was swimming in the water. (this is exactly the reason I don't swim in lakes!!!) So I yelled at Kori to get out of the water, so as she scrambles to do so, the snake gets scared and makes a bee-line towards me!!!! So there I am screaming, while my calm husband tells me not to panic!

My version of not panicing: I dropped my pole, took and running start and attempted to long jump into the boat about 5 feet away....

This is Kori holding a drink to the shin that I managed to smash into the side of the boat! Immediately a long black line appeared on it, and it was swollen and throbbing! ...and I was histerically crying! But, I survived and decided that my shin probly hurt a lot less than getting bit by a water moccasin!!!

So we headed back to the house to cook out and play Partini, which was a hilarious game that I suggest for anyone! (well adult anyones) Here is me eating one of the TWO catfish I caught that were big enough to keep!!!

And here's a great picture of Chad attempting to act out breast implants during Partini! lol!
All in all, it was an extremely fun weekend and I can't wait to do it again. Maybe next time the boys will at least make an attempt to compete in the fishing contest! I believe the final score was Girls - 14, Boys - 3! Thank you Pops for sharing your lake house with all of us, we all enjoy it every summer, and enjoy talking about the memories made there year round!
