A lot can happen in a year

Chad and I were talking not too long ago about how much can happen in so little time. A year ago, Chad and I were a newly engaged couple and were attemping to recover from the fire that had left us devastated and with out our home and most of our belongings for quite some time. I was struggling through student teaching, and just pushing through day by day to reach graduation. And that's exactly how we dealt with things then, day by day. We looked forward to the wedding and getting to move back home, between those two things and the endless love and support of our family we pushed on. Without Nanny I don't know what we would have done. I know that we have lots of family that would have taken us in, but Nanny shared her home with us, and took care of us day in and day out. She let us come and go like it was our own home, and never fussed. Chad and I are luckt to have someone like her in our lives.

And here we are one year later, with a beautiful new house and working towards our first year of marriage. I have my first teaching job, and we have so many lovely little additions to both sides of the family. We learned so much about eachother throughout the course of the year and dealing with the house, fire, wedding, and graduation all at one time. I learned that once I reach my breaking point that it's better to let my level headed husband take over. I learned that no matter how bad things seem as long as I have Chad and my family, then it will all be ok. I learned that through all the tears and anger, and frustration that Chad would be there to hold my hand and as long as we stuck together we were okay.

I am grateful for all of the good things that have happened to Chad and I, but I am also grateful for all of the bad. Because it is those things that teach us lessons and show us who our real friends truely are. It is those things that help to mold us into who we are, and that give us something to spring up from and show what we are made of.

And one year later we have some fantastic news for those of you who don't know:

Thats right! We SOLD the old house!!! After 6 months of double house payments, and double bills, we are about to unload the burden that we have been stressing over!!! We close on the 20th of this month so pray that nothing goes awry!!! Thank you to those of you who have helped us through this past year, even if it was just with a simple phone call or e-mail. Without our friends and family we would be lost!
