Teaching...and digging....

Well, I have almost been teaching for a week now, and am getting in the swing of things. I LOVE the fact that I am actually getting to work with kids every day and put my degree to some sort of use. I decorated my little corner of the hallway with paper, borders, and posters, and have gotten many compliments on it from other teachers at Ortiz. It's not the classroom I dream of...but it'll do for now.

Every day after school I head for Toro to get out the contracts from the day and catch up on all the work that they've been saving up for me there. I am lucky that they love me and put op with my odd hours...but hey, the work gets done and that's what matters!

Other than that Chad and I have been working on our new house, though not as often as I'd like us to, we just get burned out and have WAYYYYY too many projects going on at once. When we get home it's like.... do we finish tiling the counter tops, paint the next room, work in the yard....? and the list goes on... Our BIG latest project is working on the drainage in our backyard, when they dug for the pool (or this is my guess...) they left too much dirt piled, and it is higher than the houses foundation, and it causes water to seep into our garage floor when we get a lot of rain. So we have to dig it all out and install a french drain to run the water out to the street instead of our garage!!!

We spent Tuesday evening pulling out all of the landscaping stones that the previous owners had attempted to dam the water with, and after only working in the corner of our yard that houses the pool pump, our yard started to look like the landscaping section at Lowes! Stacks and stacks of EVERY kind of landscaping stone you could imagine!! The more stones we hauled out the crazier I deduced that the previous owners must have been. It is seriously rediculous. I am going to attempt to advertise them on Craigs list and see if we can get a couple of bucks for them...might as well try!!

Anyway, back to work, gotta get done early so I have time to run to Wally World and get desert made for dinner at the in-laws tonight!!! Sopapilla Cheesecake.....YUMMY!!!

Awww, you guys are so cute with your massive to-do lists. Don't get in a hurry, there will still be things left six months from now. Bo and I still have things we talked about doing, and we have lived here 3 1/2 years!
