Payton and his Puppy

I wish I could say that Duke was just totally smitten with Payton and that he wanted to love on him and be near him all the time...but that's not the case!!! Duke has always been our baby, he sleeps in our room, and goes to work with Chad every single day. He does still sleep in our room, but is now awakened to a screaming baby every once in a while, and is quickly told to hush when he makes a noise that might wake Payton up. He also still goes to work with Chad which he LOVES!!! He doesn't let Chad out of his sight once Chad's feet hit the floor in the morning, because he's scared Chad might forget him or something!! He has tolerated Payton very well, he comes and sniffs him occasionally, but he really hasn't shown any interest in staying near him for a long period of time. But the other night, Chad and I were in the floor playing with Payton in his Bumbo, and Duke came and laid right beside him! Payton's eyes just lit up and he reached out to touch Duke. I hope that as Payton grows up that his relationship with Duke grows strong, who knows maybe one day Duke will choose to sleep in Payton's room rather than ours!!! I can't wait to see what happens when Payton is mobile and he can choose to go up to Duke on his own. I actually think Duke will enjoy him more when he can interact with him better. I know that they will be the best of friends one day!!
