BIG NEWS!!!

Well, one of the reasons I decided I'd better get with it and catch up on my blogging (besides my mom kindly reminding me) was that I'm not sure how much time I'll have to keep up with it now that I'll be TEACHING 3rd GRADE this year!!! I was hired at Fannin Elementary School on Monday morning, and am so thrilled!!! I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off of my shoulders and that I can finally breathe!!! Here's where I'll be:I am really excited to get my classroom put together and put the things to use that have been slowly taking over my closets at home for the past couple of years. I am also a little scared, I won't lie. They teach you a lot in college, but they don't teach you how to start a classroom, or how to handle the first days and weeks of school!!! Or how to deal with a month with no income!!! I have a LOT of work cut out for me, and I know it will be a stressful time, but it is a long-awaited answered prayer, and I will cherish every minute!!! So I say goodbye to my friends at Toro on Monday and take my first steps into the teaching world, to meet all of the new friends I know I will make, and all of the little lives I hope I can make a difference in. Wish me luck!!!

You are going to be a wonderful teacher! Mom's method has always been firmness from the get-go and then you loosen up once they are used to respecting you. Start practicing your "teacher voice" and I am going to start looking for some holiday-themed sweater vests for you. :)
