Green Highlights for Christmas!

Well, Chad and I accomplished more last week than we have probly accomplished the entire couple of monthls that we have lived in our house. I had all of my high school friends over for a gift exchange on Friday evening and Chad wanted me to have something to be proud of to show off, which meant that our half completed kitchen countertops HAD to GO!

We were up until at least midnight everynight and until 2:00 am the night before the big party! The last evening was the most hilarious, we were delirous, and yet thrilled to have made so much progress. Chad was painting the bathroom ceiling, and I was cutting in some green paint on the wall around the countertops. I bent over to get a better view of what I was doing and dipped the tips of all of my hair into my GREEN paint can!!! Normally this would have made me mad, but at one in the morning...I just began to laugh, which caused Chad to laugh. And when he laughed and looked up at me, he touched the top of his head to the freshly-painted white ceiling, and gave himself quite a nice grey spot on the yop of his head! We were quite a pair by the time we finished!

But, as I told Chad those are memories that we will cherish and pass on to our kids someday. We will be able to say that we laid that tile, that we painted that wall, and have silly stories that we will probly repeat over and over unintentionally and drive our kids crazy! I try to keep that in mind as we work on our house. I have to remember that it's not about - go, go go, till you get it done. It's about getting our whole house exactly how we want it for us and our family that will one day come, and getting to do it together, and of course, getting to gather some funny stories along the way!!

We are so happy with where we are right now in our lives, we are about to celebrate Christmas in our new house, that although still needs a lot of work, has made great leaps and bounds since we purchased it only a few short months ago. We have eachother and that's all that matters.
