A New Year, New Projects!

First of all good news!!! Thanks to a very cool gift my mom gave me for Christmas, I will be posting pictures now! I have some great before's and after's that I can post to actually show the status of our renovating!

...Well, we have had a very busy new year so far. We started it out with a very fun party that Chad's Aunt and Uncle invited us to for the 2nd year and we always have a blast. Here's a picture of our kiss to start off the new year right!

Now for some other exciting news.... Chad decided that we could rip down our old and ugly fireplace!!!! For those of you that have seen it...you know. It was such an eyesore to our living room, and I positively could not wait to rip it apart! ( I sound a little evil don't I?). Here's the ugly thing before...
So we headed to Lueders on Saturday morning to pick up 3 TONS of limestone, and ended up driving 40 mph all the way home with a VERY overloaded trailer! Then when we arrived home we had some family waiting with work gloves in hand to help rip down the old one!!! Here's a few images of what my living room looked like over the weekend...

The beginning of the mess:

One big pull took most of it down, and Justin really enjoyed making the mess!:

Here's one of my favorites, Chad wondering how we were ever going to manage to do this!

The beginning of something beautiful....we hope!:

And here's what it looks like as of last night!

We have been working really hard on it with the help of our fantastic family, we couldn't do it without them!!! We went in to this having NO CLUE what we were doing. I told Chad that in the words of my uncle " Knowing how is not a requirement!", so we jumped in head first and learned as we went! I will keep everyone posted and hopefully will be posting a completed picture very soon!!!

Sorry we missed out last night. I really wish we could've helped! It looks like Chad agreed with the idea of leaving the 8 inch on top.

Wow, what a project! It's already lighten the room. You two have guts and strong muscles.
